Home EV charger installation
Charge at home, installed the right way.
Amphive installs home EV chargers for independent houses and apartments, starting with a site inspection and an electrical-readiness assessment, so you can charge safely and conveniently every day.
Why charge at home
The benefits of home EV charging
Convenience
Plug in when you park and start the day charged, without planning trips to public chargers.
Lower running cost
Home electricity is typically cheaper per kWh than public charging, which includes service charges and GST.
Safer than a household socket
A dedicated EV charger on its own protected circuit is designed for long, continuous charging sessions.
Faster charging
A wall-mounted AC charger can charge noticeably faster than a portable cable on a 15 A socket, depending on your car.
Charging solutions we support
Types of home charging setups
The right setup depends on your vehicle’s onboard charger, your electricity connection and your parking. Final recommendations are made after the assessment.
| Setup | Typical power | Usually suits |
|---|---|---|
| Portable charger on a dedicated socket | Up to about 3.3 kW | Plug-in hybrids, smaller batteries and occasional charging |
| Single-phase AC wall charger | Up to 7.4 kW | Most electric cars charging overnight at home |
| Three-phase AC wall charger | 11 kW or 22 kW | Homes with a three-phase supply and cars that accept higher AC power |
| Customer-supplied charger | As per charger | Chargers bought with your car or separately, subject to inspection |

Compatibility guidance
Will a charger work with my vehicle?
Most electric cars sold in India use a Type 2 inlet for AC charging. How fast a car charges at home is limited by the smaller of the charger’s output and the car’s onboard charger.
- Check your car’s AC charging limit (for example 3.3 kW, 7.2 kW or 11 kW) in the owner’s manual.
- Check whether your connection is single-phase or three-phase. Most homes are single-phase.
- If your car came with a charger, we can assess it and install it on a suitable circuit.
- Share your vehicle make and model in the enquiry form and we will confirm compatibility for your specific case.
We do not promise that every charger works with every vehicle. Compatibility is confirmed for your vehicle and site during the assessment.
